Most of us know these words from movies when a ship is about to sink or a plane is about to crash
and more of such hilarious stuff.
However, did you know the word 'mayday' derives from French: "m'aidez", meaning - not unexpectedly -'help me'?
In Morse the usual distress signal is SOS.
